ZTE Wins Jamaican WiMAX Deployment Contract

­Digicel Jamaica says that it has awarded a contract to China's zte for a full turn-key solution for phase one of its 2.5GHz Mobile WiMAX network. Under the agreement, zte will install a nationwide network across all 14 Parishes of Jamaica, covering 60% of the population at launch.  more

Low-Cost Solar Powered Mobile Phone for the Caribbean

Pan-Caribbean mobile network operator, Digicel says that it is to start selling a low-cost solar-powered mobile phone. The Coral-200-Solar, manufactured by zte, uses proprietary technology from Dutch-based innovator Intivation.  more
