Telefonica Announces Wide-Spread Trials of LTE Networks
Telefonica says that it has reached an agreement with six LTE technology providers to launch LTE test projects in six different countries. The suppliers Telefonica has chosen so far: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei, NEC, Nokia Siemens Networks and zte, will start rolling out the equipment necessary for testing the technology during the coming months. more

ZTE Wins Jamaican WiMAX Deployment Contract
Digicel Jamaica says that it has awarded a contract to China's zte for a full turn-key solution for phase one of its 2.5GHz Mobile WiMAX network. Under the agreement, zte will install a nationwide network across all 14 Parishes of Jamaica, covering 60% of the population at launch. more
