Romanian CDMA network implements billing solution

CSG Systems has said that Romania's only CDMA network, Telemobil has successfully implemented its Kenan 3G mobile solution as its sole billing platform for mobile voice and data services. Telemobil recently selected and implemented Kenan/BP billing product, CSG Kenan/OM order manager and CSG Data Mediation for network data mediation as well as CONNECTVU-Wireless provisioning software. more

CDMA network launches in Romania

The Romanian mobile operator Telemobil has launched its network, built with CDMA2000 1X equipment operating on its 450MHz spectrum. Telemobil will initially introduce service in 30 major cities and towns, with full nationwide coverage by 2003. Under the agreement Lucent has provided and installed mobile switching centers and Flexent(tm) CDMA450 Modular Base Stations. more

Romanian CDMA network to go live this week

The Romanian analogue network, Telemobil has said that it will launch its CDMA network on this Friday. The network will trade under a new brand name, zapp Mobile. The network will initially cover 30 cities and major highways, with 95% population coverage expected by 2003. Telemobil is using Lucent supplied hardware for its CDMA2000 network that will operate on the 450Mhz band, costing a total of US$350 million. Qualcomm invested in the company in February this year to encourage the migration to CDMA." more
