Indonesia's XL Cancels Towers Sale

Indonesian operator, PT Excelcomindo Pratama (xl) has cancelled plans to sell its portfolio of 7,000 towers and will use tap its shareholders in a rights issue to raise funds for its network expansion. The company said in a filing with the local stock exchange that the interested bidders were not willing to pay an acceptable price for the towers.  more

Two Bidders for Indonesian Tower Assets

Two investment firms, Saratoga Capital and Recapital are reported to be interested in buying the tower assets currently owned by Indonesian mobile operator Excelcomindo Pratama (xl). The company currently owns over 7,000 base stations, which it values at some US$550 million.  more

Indonesian Networks Sign Tower Sharing Deal

Indonesia's Excelcomindo (xl) has signed a tower sharing deal with Hutchison Telecoms Indonesian subsidiary, PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications (HCPT). There are also unconfirmed reports coming in that the company has also signed a similar deal with the tiny local GSM operator, Lippo Telecom.  more
