Denmark Planning Auction of LTE/WiMAX Radio Spectrum

Denmark is to hold a consultation on auctioning off radio spectrum in the 2.5ghz bands. The Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation (National IT and Telecom Agency) said that 205MHz of spectrum will be auctioned in total: 190MHz in the 2.5GHz band (2500-2690MHz) and 15MHz in the 2010MHz band (2010-2025MHz).  more

WiMAX Coverage Expands in Malaysia

Clearwire Buys Additional WiMAX Radio Licenses

US WiMAX operator, Clearwire has picked up some extra wireless licenses from private equity group, Catalyst Investors for an undisclosed amount. Catalyst began acquiring wireless licenses through its ownership of Oneida Communications in 2006 and sold the majority of Oneida's spectrum holdings to Sprint Nextel in 2008.  more

Chinese TV Agency Denies Plans for $14.5 Billion WiMAX Network

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has denied reports that it was planning to spend RMB 100 billion (US$14.5 billion) on building a WiMAX network in 30 cities.
