Motorola to Expand Taiwanese WiMAX Network

Airspan Wins Expansion WiMAX Contract for Costa Rica

Airspan Networks has announced today that I.C.E. (El Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad) of Costa Rica, the country's main telecommunications operator, has awarded it a follow-on order worth approximately US$12.5 million through its local partner, Datatell, for a network expansion and the deployment of several tens of thousands of CPEs (customer premises equipment).  more

Oulu Finland Launches Free Mobile WiMAX Network

Oulu Innovation has announced that the city of Oulu, Finland is launching a MobileWiMAX-based wireless broadband network to enhance the city's current wireless development and testing platforms. Alcatel-Lucent Wins Spanish WiMAX Contract

Alcatel-Lucent says that it is one of the companies selected by Spain's Neo-Sky to deploy a turnkey WiMAX 802.16e-2005 (Rev-e) network in Madrid, enabling the Spanish broadband operator to test and accelerate the deployment of WiMAX services in Spain.  more

WiMAX Network Covers Rural Costa Rica

Costa Rican wireless broadband services operator, IDNet says that it has deployed a WiMAX network based on infrastructure kit supplied by Redline Communications. The project represents the first live private WiMAX network operating in the 3.3 GHz licensed spectrum in Costa Rica.  more
