S&P Downgrades Nokia's Debt Ratings
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today it lowered its long-term corporate credit rating on Nokia to 'A-' from 'A'. In addition, S&P affirmed the 'A-1' short-term rating. They removed all ratings from CreditWatch, where they were placed with negative implications on Feb. 1, 2011. The outlook is now stable. more

Nokia Already Working on First Microsoft Based Smartphone
Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop says that the company has already started work on the company's first Windows Phone 7 based smartphone, just a few weeks after the company announced its shift from Symbian to the WP7 operating system. Speculation that Nokia May Announce Windows OS Based Phones Next Week
Although it is known that Nokia is about to announce a significant change to its handset software roadmap next week, much of the speculation had agreed that the company would almost certainly announce a tie-up with the Google backed Android platform. Nokia to Announce "Strategy Shift" for its Handsets Next Week
Nokia has hinted at a possible shift in its handset strategy that could see it embracing an alternative to its Symbian and MeeGo operating systems for future handsets. Speaking at the company's financial results, Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop said that "Nokia must compete on an ecosystem-to-ecosystem basis.
