Optimistic Operators Boosts Taiwan's WiMAX CPE Industry

Taiwan's wimax CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) industry shipment volume reached 844,500 units in the third quarter of 2009, representing 56.7% sequential growth and 236.5% year-on-year growth, reports Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC). Jordan Gains its 3rd WiMAX Network Operator

A third wimax network has been launched in the Middle-Eastern country of Jordan, based on network infrastructure supplied by Motorola. Initially, coverage is being offered in the capital, along with the major cities of Irbid and Zaraq. The network, being operated by Mada Communications will be expanded nationwide eventually.  more

Product Testing Issues, Economy Impacted Taiwan's WiMAX Industry in Q4 '08

A new report has found that Taiwanese wimax CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) shipment volume has been estimated at 261,500 units in the fourth quarter of 2008, up 4.2% compared to the previous quarter. Since ASP (Average Selling Price) saw a slight decline, Taiwanese wimax CPE shipment value in the fourth quarter of 2008 grew approximately 3.0% to US$38 million.  more

RAD Unveils Wireless Multiplexer for "Data Hungry" Applications

RAD Data Communications has unveiled a broadband wireless multiplexer, which delivers which the company says is a full duplex, 50-Mbps capacity multi point-to-point broadband wireless transmission device. Motorola and Mada Roll-Out WiMAX in Jordan

Motorola says that it has started rolling out a wimax network in Jordan on behalf of local firm, Mada. The company is expected to launch wimax services before the end of 2008. In addition, Motorola has designed a wholesale model, enabling Mada to offer wimax services to other Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the country.  more
