WiMAX operator, Augere Sells Stake to Private Equity Group

­Harbinger Capital Partners has taken a 25% stake in wimax network operator, Augere for US$50 million. Augere currently has access to wireless spectrum in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Uganda. Licenses are also being actively pursued in countries across Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia.  more

Bangladeshi WiMAX License Holders Miss Payment Deadline

Two of the firms which recently won wimax licenses in Bangladesh has not paid their license fees before the mandatory deadline. The regulator has however decided to extend the deadline for paying the license fee to the middle of next month, citing the financial situation in international stock markets.  more
