WiMAX Forum Projects Over 800 Million People to Have Access to WiMAX Networks by 2010

The WiMAX Forum has announced that WiMAX Service Providers now offer networks covering 430 million people, or POPS, globally and are on a path to nearly double to 800 million people by end of 2010. In addition, global WiMAX network deployments are approaching 460 in more than 135 countries for fixed, portable, and mobile networks.  more

Open Patent Alliance Formed to Advance WiMAX 4G Technology

To accelerate the widespread adoption and deployment of WiMAX technology and products, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Clearwire, Intel, Samsung Electronics and Sprint have jointly announced the formation of the Open Patent Alliance (OPA).  more
