Open Patent Alliance Formed to Advance WiMAX 4G Technology

To accelerate the widespread adoption and deployment of WiMAX technology and products, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Clearwire, Intel, Samsung Electronics and Sprint have jointly announced the formation of the Open Patent Alliance (OPA).  more

Alcatel-Lucent to Resell Oki Mobile WiMAX Terminals

Japan's Oki Electric Industry has announced an agreement with Alcatel-Lucent, to jointly market it's mobile WiMAX terminals to the worldwide market. OKI expects to begin shipping WiMAX compatible products in the second half of this year.  more

Taiwan Government: To Sign WiMax MOUs With Major Telecom Cos

TAIPEI -(Dow Jones)- Taiwan will sign memorandums of understanding Oct. 22 with five major telecommunications companies on the licensing of WiMAX technology and the purchase of related equipment, a government official said Monday.  more
