UPDATED: Motorola Sacked Financial Officer "for Cause"
When Motorola announced its financial results last month, they also announced without elaborating that the Chief Financial Officer, Paul Liska was leaving the firm with immediate effect. It has now been confirmed via a regulatory filing that he was effectively sacked - or "involuntarily terminated for cause" as the filing puts it. more

Dell Smartphone Rumours Resurface
The persistent rumours that computer maker, Dell is preparing to launch a range of mobile phones got another boost when it was reported that the firm could launch its first handsets next month. A report in the Wall Street Journal said that Dell has had a group of engineers working on the phones for more than a year from an office in the Chicago area. more

The new head of Motorola's mobile phone division, Sanjay Jha has decided that the company should focus the bulk of its efforts on developing phones based on the Google backed Android system.
