According to IDC's European Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped 9.3 million units, 25.9% higher than the 7.4 million shipped in 4Q07. Verizon Profits Rise as Wireless Growth Starts to Slow
US based Verizon Communications has reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profits, although growth in its wireless subscriber base slowed even as landline subscribers continued to shut-down their accounts. The firm recorded a quarterly profit of US$1.2 billion compared to US$1.1 billion a year ago - on sales of US$24.6 billion (compared to US$23.8 billion a year ago). more
