Vodafone Turkey Plans $675 Million CAPEX Over Next Year
Vodafone's troubled Turkish division has confirmed plans to invest 1 billion lira (US$675 million) over the next twelve months as it tries to boost its market share in the country. The company's chief executive, Serpil Timuray told the television channel, CNN Turk that the investment would include spending on its 3G network. more
Just a few days after apparently announcing plans to hire 500 extra staff this year, Vodafone Turkey has announced 260 job cuts as part of a corporate restructuring. The job cuts came as part of "an organizational overhaul" and to increase efficiency, the company said in a statement. more

Monitoring Network Problems in Turkey
Tektronix says that it has deployed its GeoProbe network assurance platform and Advanced Performance Monitoring (APM) product in the network operated by Vodafone in Turkey. Tektronix' monitoring system enables Vodafone Turkey to detect bottlenecks, abnormal situations and performance degradation within its GPRS and GSM network in real time. more
