Optimus Primes its Mobile Broadband Speed to Support 21.6 Mbps

Portuguese mobile network operator, Optimus has joined the small, but growing list of networks to have upgraded their mobile download speeds to a peak rate of 21.6 Mbps. The upgrade to HSPA+ also included an improvement to the upload channel to support peak rates of 5.76 Mbps.  more

Vodafone Portugal Triples Mobile Broadband Speed to 21.6Mbps

Vodafone Portugal has tripled its mobile download speeds to a peak rate of 21.6Mbps, after launching a HSPA+ 64QAM upgrade. The maximum upload speed will increase from the present 1.4 Mbps to 5.7 Mbps.  more

Vodafone Portugal Selects Ortiva Wireless to Improve Mobile Video Quality

Alcatel-Lucent Buys Service Management Software Firm

Alcatel-Lucent has entered into an agreement to acquire Motive, a provider of service management software for broadband and mobile data services for approximately US$67.8 million. The acquisition extends a three-year relationship between Alcatel-Lucent and Motive. The two companies jointly develop and sell remote management software solutions for automating the deployment, configuration and support of home networking devices called residential gateways.  more
