Vodafone Ireland picks Nokia as the sole supplier for its 3G network

Vodafone Ireland and Nokia have signed an agreement for the supply of Nokia's WCDMA 3G solution. Deliveries begin this month, and under the agreement, Nokia will provide both 3G core and radio-access network equipment for the roll-out and introduction of Vodafone Ireland's WCDMA network. In addition to network equipment, Nokia will provide installation, commissioning, integration and project management services for efficient network ramp-up, and a wide range of care services to maintain the competitiveness of the network. more

Vodafone accepts Irish 3G license

Vodafone has finally decided to pay for and accept the 3G license in Ireland that it has been offered. The company had requested an extension on last months deadline for payment, which was granted by the telecoms regulator. The company had until September 12th to pay under the extended plan. more
