Virgin Mobile USA Cuts 10% of its Workforce

Virgin Mobile USA has announced that it is cutting around 45 jobs - representing some 10% of its workforce, in its New Jersey and California offices. In a memo to employees, Virgin Mobile USA Chief Executive Officer Dan Schulman explained that the Company had identified continued synergies associated with the transition of IT services to IBM and the acquisition of Helio.  more

Virgin Mobile USA Outsources IT Management to IBM

Virgin Mobile USA has signed a services agreement for Information Technology (IT) operations and new applications development with IBM. Under the terms of the new services agreement, IBM will begin transitioning Virgin Mobile USA's existing IT infrastructure and application suite into its own environment. Simultaneously and continuing over the course of the next five years, IBM will work with Virgin Mobile USA to develop wireless applications and service offerings.  more
