Telekom Austria CEO makes a Beeline for Russia

Telekom Austria has lost its CEO, Boris Nemsic to the Russia based telco,vimpelcom . He will be switching companies at the end of the month.  Nemsic, who has been CEO of Telekom Austria Group since 2006, has informed the chairing committee of the supervisory board of his resignation as of March 31, 2009.  more

VimpelCom Launches 3G Coverage in Four Russian Cities

Russia's vimpelcom has announced the commercial launch of a 3G network in certain Russian regions. 3G networks have been launched in four cities: Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Chelyabinsk. The networks currently cover the central and some of the most densely populated districts in these cities, and vimpelcom expects that during 2008 coverage will be extended to bedroom communities.  more

Ericsson to deliver WCDMA/HSPA network to VimpelCom in Russia

Ericsson and Russian operator vimpelcom have signed an agreement for the supply and implementation of a WCDMA/HSPA network, plus associated services, to cover seven out of nine macro regions across Russia, including Moscow, the North Caucasus, Siberia, Volga, Northwest Russia, South Russia and the Urals.  more
