BSNL Launches 3G Services in 11 Cities
Ericsson has issued an update on its Sept 2007 contract win from India's BSNL - and says it achieved the country's biggest simultaneous launch of 3G services to date, across 11 major cities. As part of its roll-out strategy, BSNL plans to launch 3G services using WCDMA/HSPA technology across more than 700 cities in the first phase. more

Oi Brazil plans Mobile TV launch, IPTV later
Oi has been working on triple and quadruple play options since it clinched a deal in June 2006 to acquire Minas Gerais cable TV provider Way TV for 132mn reais (US$75.6mn). The telecoms regulator Anatel finally approved the acquisition on October 23 this year. more
