South Korean Operator Offers Lie-Detectors on its 3G Video Calls
South Korea's Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF) has deployed a lie detector in its 3G video calling network - based on a software and hardware platform provided by TI Square and TelcoBridges respectively. KTF's W-CDMA Video Special Call Service provides video messaging, call recording, and voice analysis capabilities that evaluate voice patterns and gauge the sincerity of the caller. Packaged and sold as the "SHOW Love Detector" and the "SHOW Lie Detector," these fee-based video calling services - which are rapidly gaining popularity throughout Korea - enable users to conduct mobile video conferences that feature a "love meter" on the screen of their handset during the conversation. more

The first inaugural mobile content research has been launched to provide insight into the profile, behaviour and preferences of the Australian mobile phone user. The Australian Mobile Phone Lifestyle Index, sponsored by m.Net Corporation, is the first Australia-wide study into the mobile phone users and will be published twice a year to highlight changing trends. The study was undertaken by the Mobile Content Industry Development Group (MCIDG), an industry group established by the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA), m.Net Corporation and Ideal Interfaces. more
