Wireless subscribers continue to flood networks with record numbers of mobile messages each day, according to numbers released by verisign's Mobile Messaging and Media division. verisign has published a report which indicates single-day and quarterly mobile messaging records have been broken. Wireless banking service for Sri Lanka

The mobile payments company, Network365 has signed a contract with Sri Lanka's Celltel Lanka to enable its users to make payments for goods and services via SMS. The first of its kind in the region, the CellWallet provides encrypted electronic storage for information pertaining to a user's credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts and other personal data, allowing the user to issue payment instructions from his or her mobile phone, without having to transmit such sensitive data 'over the air' for each transaction. more
