BSNL To Start Selling 3G USB Modems

Indian mobile phone manufacturer, Micromax says that it has secured a distribution deal with state-owned mobile network operator, BSNL for its 3G USB Modems. BSNL is currently rolling out its 3G network, and currently covers 11 cities - with the intention to cover approx 700 cities in the next 2-3 months.  more

Huawei Adds Windows 7 Support to USB Modems

Huawei has unveiled a new portfolio of mobile broadband solutions that are Windows 7 compatible. The centrepiece among this new suite of solutions is a notebook-embedded 3G module that supports Microsoft Windows 7 - HuaweiĆ's EM770. The EM770 3G module delivers uplink speeds of 5.76Mbps and it has already been integrated into notebooks manufactured by ASUSTek Computer and Elitegroup Computer Systems.  more

Vodafone to Sell Asus EeePC Laptops

Vodafone Portugal has teamed up with Taiwan's Asus to offer a bundled HSDPA USB modem with Asus's iconic mini-laptop, the EeePC 701. Among telecommunications operators in Portugal, this PC will be sold exclusively by Vodafone.  more
