USA network, Sprint Nextel has announced the next markets in its WiMAX network rollout. The network is being folded into the national WiMAX network being built by its joint-partner, Clearwire. Sprint says that it plans to deploy WiMAX in many markets in 2009, including: Atlanta, Honolulu, Charlotte, Las Vegas, Chicago, Philadelphia, DallasFort Worth, Portland and Seattle more

Sprint to Start Selling CDMA-WiMAX USB Modems
Sprint Nextel has announced that it will start selling its first CDMA-WiMAX dual-mode device, a USB modem from next week - just before Christmas. Sprint launched 4G in Baltimore in September and plans to launch in other markets across the country throughout 2009. more

Despite Phone-as-Modems Uasage - Cellular Modem Sales to Top $22 Billion by 2013
Recently US operator, Sprint lowered its mobile broadband prices for using the cellular phone as a modem, leaving its pricing using PC Cards and USB modems unchanged. But even given this threat, cellular modem sales are set to top $22 billion by 2013. more
