Orange Sprinkles Some Monkey Magic Over its PrePay Service

Orange UK has announced a new PrePay tariff that offers free music streamed to their mobile phone each time they top up their account. Aimed primarily at the youth market, the so-called "Monkey" tariff has been created with 16-24 year olds in mind tapping into the elements of teen and 'twenty somethings' lifestyle choices. As well as free music, Monkey offers customers free texts, allows for playlists to be shared on social networks, along with advertising from relevant brands direct to their mobile.  more

SingTel Launches Unlimited Mobile Music Service

Singapore based mobile network operator, SingTel has alunched a free mobile music download service for its contract customers. The service, branded SingTel AMPed, has been developed in partnership with Universal Music Group (UMG) and offers music videos and pre-release albums in addition to conventional music downloads.  more

Vodafone to Drop DRM Copy-Protection from Music Store

Vodafone is to drop copying protection, known as DRM from its music stores after signing deals with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI Music. The new deals are the first of their kind for a mobile network operator enabling dual delivery of DRM free music to a wide range of mobile phones and PCs with no need to sideload or synchronize.  more

Qualcomm Invests in Modular Mobile Phone Concept

Nokia Secures Pan-European Licensing for Music Download Platform

Nokia says that it has secured a pan European licensing deal to support its Comes With Music mobile music download platform. Sony Ericsson Launches Unlimited Music Download Service

Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of "PlayNow plus", a music download service for Sony Ericsson customers, designed to compete with Nokia's all-you-eat music service. The service is due to launch commercially with operator Telenor in Sweden in the fourth quarter of this year, with further roll-outs around the world beginning in early 2009.  more

Sony Ericsson Looking at Unlimited Music Downloads Service
