Anadigics Offers Power Amp for 3G Phones in the GSM900 Bands
Anadigics has announced its new AWT6281 HELP3 WCDMA Linear Power Amplifier (PA) engineered specifically for use in 3G handsets operating in the GSM900 bands. The company said that the new power amplifier extends the operating time of 3G handsets and data cards, which is critical for successful operation using today's High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) networks. AWT6281 has been specified by leading chipset manufacturers for selected reference designs. more

3G Trials at 900Mhz Completed in Australia
Huawei says that it has successfully completed Australia's first 3G umts900 network trial in partnership with Optus. The trial was carried out by Optus in the central west region of NSW using Huawei's umts900 transmitters and a team of Huawei and Optus personnel. more
O2 and Alcatel-Lucent Complete 3G 900MHz Network Deployment
Alcatel-Lucent and Manx Telecom - a wholly owned subsidiary of O2, say that they have successfully completed the first UMTS and HSDPA network deployment using the 900MHz spectrum on the Isle of Man. more

UMTS900 to be Deployed this Year
Informa says that it believes that Finland, France and Portugal will lead the way in rolling out umts900, as predicted in a recent Informa report. From the beginning of this year, Europe's CEPT cleared the path for the roll-out of umts900 in its 47 member states. It has adopted a decision to allow deployment of UMTS in the spectrum bands formerly reserved for GSM. All that now remains is for the member states to implement the decision into their national radio-frequency plans, a process that has already begun in Finland and Portugal. more
