A Qualcomm subsidiary in India and Ericsson have successfully demonstrated LTE TDD mobility at 2.3 GHz in an outdoor environment. The demonstration live streamed multiple high-definition video feeds to a mobile van in the Gurgaon area, showing a seamless hand off between base stations while maintaining session continuity. The demonstration was carried out by using Radio Access Network (RAN) and Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solutions from Ericsson, and USB dongles based on Qualcomm's MDM9x00 multimode chipset that supports both LTE and 3G. more

Qualcomm Moves Forward with its Indian LTE Network
Qualcomm has secured two new shareholders for its Indian radio spectrum holding company. Qualcomm recently won licenses covering four license regions (circles) in India's BWA auction. Subject to receipt of government approvals, Qualcomm will have a 74 percent stake in the venture, while Global Holding and Tulip Telecom will hold 13 percent each, as required by applicable Indian Foreign Direct Investment regulations. more
