TriQuint to improve GSM power amp manufacturing

triquint Semiconductor says that it is collaborating with Amkor Technology to commercialize a low-cost flip-chip assembly process for GaAs semiconductors based on triquint's CuFlip bumping technology. Using CuFlip copper 'bumps,' electrical connections once made by wire bonds are now possible by directly linking contact points on a semiconductor die to the module ceramic or laminate substrate. more

Atmel announces new SiGe transmitter for dualband CDMA/AMPS phones

Atmel Corporation has announced the availability of a new dual-band tri-mode CDMA/ AMPS transmitter. The T0345 is manufactured in Atmel's Silicon Germanium (SiGe) technology and is part of the CDMA product series being developed as part of the CDMA345TM joint development project with triquint Semiconductor. As the new transmitter is manufactured in SiGe technology, it offers outstandingly low current consumption and a high Power-Added Efficiency (PAE) value. This, along with the power-down mode, enables longer talk time. more

Samsung teams with TriQuint to develop CDMA amps.

triquint Semiconductor has announced that it has worked with Samsung to develop CDMA handset power amplifiers that offer significant performance advantages over the performance of the amplifiers currently on the market. Samsung's K.R. Lee, Vice President RF communications lab, states, "The SP1121NA and SP1122NA are our first power amplifier module offerings and we have achieved significant performance advantages over the performance of the modules currently on the market.
