New Mobile Music Bundle Could Attract 2 Billion UK Downloads

High Costs Hindering 3G Sales

Despite mobile phone providers' endeavours to recruit 3G customers, third generation technology remains a low priority for mobile users across the globe - and cost is the overriding factor. The annual Global Technology Insight (GTI) study by market information company, tns has identified little increase in 3G technology usage amongst consumers, who see the offer of mobile TV and surfing the net as costly and unnecessary services. more

USA Trailing Rest of World in Embracing Music on Cell Phones

Almost one in five (19%) of all mobile phone owners worldwide now listen to music on their phones, according to a new study by tns. Amongst this global group, some 16% of all music they listen to daily is on their phones, compared with 15% on a stereo system at home and just 10% on a personal digital music player, such as an iPod. However, in the USA, only four percent of cell phone users listened to MP3s or digital music on their cell phone on a regular basis. more
