US Teens quadruple use of mobile data
If it seems like American teens are texting all the time, it's probably because on average they're sending or receiving 3,339 texts a month. That's more than six per every hour they're awake - an 8 percent jump from last year. Using recent data from monthly cell phone bills of more than 60,000 mobile subscribers as well as survey data from over 3,000 teens, The Nielsen Company analyzed mobile usage data among teens in the United States for the second quarter of 2010 (April 2010 - June 2010). more

Half of Brits Have Not Changed Phone Usage Patterns in Past 5 Years
Voice and text remain the ¢â‚¬Ëœkiller' applications worldwide as mobile phone users across the globe admit to using their devices for the same things that they did in 2003. Research commissioned by telecom application connectivity specialist AppTrigger also showed that despite advances in mobile phone functionality and the launch of devices such as Apple's iPhone, almost a third (30%) of Americans and Canadians and more than half of UK adults (57%) insist that the way in which they use their mobiles has not changed for five years. more

More Than 100 Million Americans Viewed Mobile Ads in Q3 2008
A report from GfK, and commissioned by mobile social network website, Limbo says that mobile advertising awareness grew 33 percent in nine months against a backdrop of six percent growth in cell phone usage. This suggests an increased allocation of advertising dollars to mobile formats through the first nine months of the year. more

US Mobile Advertising Experiences 13 Percent Quarterly Growth
A new report has found that the vast majority of Indian mobile phone users have received adverts on their handsets. The report, commissioned by US mobile social website, Limbo and GfK Technology also found that 51% of Brits and 37% of Americans have also reported mobile adverts on their handsets. more

Swisscom Expands Mobile Advertising on Vodafone Live Portal
Mobile advertising agency, Ad Infuse has announced an expansion of its relationship with Switzerland's Swisscom to deploy its adInMotion platform within the Vodafone live! portal. The deployment of adInMotion builds on the video advertising pilot that the two companies undertook in 2007 to encompass a broader solution including WAP and SMS advertising. more

9 Million US Mobile Users Have Used Their Mobile Phone to Pay for Goods or Services
Commerce over mobile devices such as cell phones is accelerating in the US, according to data released by The Nielsen Company. Already, 9 million US mobile subscribers say they have used their mobile phone to pay for goods or services, and half of all data users (49%) say they expect to participate in mobile commerce in the future. more

Canada's record-breaking 3rd quarter sees a half-million new subscribers
The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) has announced that wireless phone customers in Canada numbered 19.3 million as at September 30, 2007. In the third quarter of the year, wireless service providers reported the addition of approximately 523,000 new subscribers, which marks the first time that net new customer additions exceeded a half-million subscribers outside of a fourth quarter. more
