Commit Releases Chipset Solution Supporting TD-HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE
China based Commit, a TD-SCDMA chipset solution vendor, has announced the release of its MARS-II chipset solution and reference design supporting TD-HSDPA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE. The company says its solution can fully meet operators' requirements for commercial TD-SCDMA deployment in terms of seamless handover between TD-SCDMA and 2.5G communications, HSDPA, high-end 3G applications and low power consumption. more

Mobile Linux Group Gets More Supporters
Three more firms have joined the Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) Forum. Telecom Italia, texas Instruments (TI) and ZTE are the most recent additions to the consortium of companies with a strategic focus on Linux telephony. In association with its members, the LiPS Forum is currently defining a standardized software platform which allows applications and end-user services to be deployed across all types of Linux telephony terminals, fostering interoperability and promoting adoption of Linux. more
