Apple Finally Gets its New iPhone Boss
After settling a legal dispute, Apple has announced that former IBM vice-president, Mark Papermaster will finally be joining the Company as senior vice president of Devices Hardware Engineering. The job posting was originally announced last November, but has been mired in a legal dispute after IBM claimed that he was breaching a clause in his contract preventing him from leaving to work for a competitor. more

After years of coming close to breaking into the top-10 global semiconductor rankings, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Hynix Semiconductor finally hit the big time in 2006, according to a preliminary ranking from iSuppli Corp. In the telecoms world, Qualcomm maintained its ranking while Broadcom managed to jump a couple of places.
