Symbian Components to be Offered as Open Source Software

Wireless-Chip Market Outpaced Wireline-Chip Market in 2007

Growing adoption of 3G technologies and feature-rich cell-phone chips led to a 13% increase in sales of cellular baseband processors in 2007, according to The Linley Group. Sales of networking chips, in contrast, declined by about 1% during the same period according to their new report. Handset Market Growth Drops to 6% in 2008

The global handset market is forecast to see slowing growth for 2008, with year-on-year growth only achieving 5.7% according to the IMS Research Online Cellular Database.
