Telus Confirms Launch Date for HSPA+ Upgrade

­Canada's telus has announced that it will launch its HSPA+ network upgrade next week - on 5th November, 2009. The network will offer a theoretical peak rate of up to 21 megabits per second.  more

Sierra Wireless works to develop CDMA based PC cards

Sierra Wireless has announced an agreement with telus Mobility for the development of a CDMA Type II PC card for use in laptops and PDA's, providing data communications up to 144kbps. "We are pleased to have telus Mobility's support in the research and development of next-generation CDMA technology," said Norman Toms, Chief Technical Officer, Sierra Wireless. "This agreement not only enhances our ability to accelerate the development of wireless solutions for next-generation networks, but also provides access to valuable human and technological resources within telus Mobility." telus Mobility has a long-standing relationship with Sierra Wireless that includes field trials and the commercial launch of their first-generation CDMA and CDPD wireless modems." more
