Telus Announces HSPA Upgrade for Alberta

Canada's telus has announced a 2009 capital plan to invest more than CA$700 million (US$570 million) focused primarily on advanced wireless and wireline broadband infrastructure in Alberta. This investment is expected to support more than 2,100 jobs. Since 2000, telus has made more than $18 billion in capital and operating expenditures in the province.  more

Canada gets a CDMA roaming deal

Canada's telus Mobility and Bell Mobility, including its affiliates, and Aliant Telecom Wireless have signed a roaming agreement for their CDMA networks in Canada. By avoiding the duplicated build-out of each other's non-urban digital footprints, telus Mobility and Bell Mobility would each avoid capital expenditures in excess of $500 million, in addition to related annual operating expenses, over the 10-year term of the Agreements. more
