Telstra Upgrades Mobile Data Speeds

Australian network operator, telstra has upgraded its Ericsson supplied network to support peak network uplink speeds of 5.8Mbps. Michael Rocca, Group Managing Director, telstra Networks & Services, said the increased uplink speeds complement the world leading download speeds available in the network since the deployment of HSPA+ technology across the Next G network footprint late last year.  more

Dialog Telekom Testing HSPA+ Upgrade in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's Dialog Telekom is reported to have started a pilot launch of a HSPA+ (HSPA Evolution) upgrade on its network, which will boost download speeds to a peak rate of 21Mbps. The typical download speeds are closer to 8Mbps in real life tests carried out by Australia's telstra network.  more

Hong Kong Network Launches HSPA+ Upgrade

StarHub Launches HSPA+ Upgrade: Offers Peak 21Mbps Download Speeds

Singapore's StarHub, in partnership with Huawei has announced the launch of StarHub's HSPA+ upgrade - offering peak mobile data downloads of up to 21Mbps. When Australian operator, telstra launched its HSPA+ upgrade, it said that customers could expect the average download speed to be around 8Mbps.  more

Sierra Wireless Launches HSPA+ USB Modems

Sierra Wireless has launched its first mobile broadband USB modems for HSPA+ networks. The new modems nearly triple the speed of other mobile broadband devices, with peak download speeds of 21Mbps. The Sierra Wireless USB 306 and USB 307 modems are expected to ship within the first half of this year.  more

Huawei Demos HSPA+ in Hong Kong

Huawei has announced the successful completion of its first live demonstration of a commercially ready HSPA+ (also known as HSPA Evolution) network and device. The trial was conducted in Hong Kong with telecoms operator PCCW. HuaweiĆ's E182E HSPA+ mobile broadband solution will be ready for full commercial use in the early part of 2009.  more

Etisalat upgrading to HSDPA+

UAE based mobile operator, Etisalat has confirmed that it is planning an upgrade of its network to support HSPA+ services. The upgrade should be ready by the second or third quarter of 2009, Marwan Mohammed Al Qadi, Acting Senior Manager, product Marketing at Etisalat told AME Info.  more

Sierra Wireless' Mobile Modems to Support 21 Mbps Download Speeds
