Telstra Upgrades Mobile Data Speeds
Australian network operator, telstra has upgraded its Ericsson supplied network to support peak network uplink speeds of 5.8Mbps. Michael Rocca, Group Managing Director, telstra Networks & Services, said the increased uplink speeds complement the world leading download speeds available in the network since the deployment of HSPA+ technology across the Next G network footprint late last year. more

Wireless Broadband Boosts Australian Economy by $4.7 Billion
Australia's rapid take-up of wireless broadband has boosted economic productivity, according to an economist. Dr Paul Paterson of Concept Economics says a study looking at the economic impact of wireless broadband estimates that if take up continues at current levels there will be an ongoing annual productivity dividend to Australians of AU$7.4 billion (US$4.7 billion) - the equivalent of AU$250 (US$158) for every household. more

Telstra Launches 21Mbps Download Service
Australian network, telstra has commercially launched the world's fastest mobile broadband service. The service will offer a 21Mbps peak download rate and the peak network speeds will increase to 42Mbps later this year. more
