Tele2 and Telenor to Jointly Build LTE Network in Sweden

Active RAN Sharing Could Save Operators $60 Billion

A new study from ABI Research finds that the worldwide combined OPEX and CAPEX savings from active infrastructure sharing could amount to as much as $60 billion over the next five year period. The study finds that operators could enjoy at least 40% cost savings in addition to those available from passive site sharing.  more

Telenor Wins Rural Pakistan Coverage Deal

Pakistan's Universal Service Fund (USF) and telenor have entered into a Rs. 930 million (US$11.6 million) contract to provide basic telephony and data services to the population in the yet un-served areas of Sanghar, Tharparkar Umerkot and Mirpur Khas districts.  more

Telenor Expands Norwegian HSDPA Coverage

telenor has announced that it is expanding its HSDPA (Turbo 3G) coverage in Norway to cover all communities with more than 200 inhabitants, equivalent to 86 percent of the Norwegian population.  more
