Tele2 and Telenor to Jointly Build LTE Network in Sweden

Sweden's Tele2 and telenor have this morning announced plans to jointly build an LTE based network through a new joint-venture company. The new company will be responsible for network construction and sharing of spectrum for mobile communication and plans to start offering commercial services by the end of 2010.  more

3G Operator, Hi3G Granted 900Mhz Spectrum in Sweden

The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) has made the decision to approve an application from the operators TeliaSonera, Swefour, Tele2, telenor and Hi3G for frequencies in the 900 MHz band. The present licences in the 900 MHz band will be renewed and it will be possible for the operators to phase in new technology for mobile broadband while at the same time continuing to offer GSM mobile telephony.  more

Pakistan Planning 3G Spectrum Auction

Pakistan is expected to auction off three blocks of 3G spectrum in the next few months - reports local media. As the existing mobile licenses are technology neutral and therefore can already offer 3G service (hardware permitting), there wont be a 3G license process - simply the allocation of spectrum in the 3G bands - namely 2.1Ghz.  more
