Telenor 3rd-Quarter Profits Jump 16%

Nor­way based telenor has posted a stronger than anticipated 16% rise in it's third-quarter profits to NOK 3.49 billion (US$607 million), while revenues rose by 4% to NOK 24.3 billion (US$4.3 billion). The operating profit increased by 14 per cent to NOK 4.5 billion. more

Telenor Launches Mobile Banking Service in Pakistan

telenor Pakistan and Tameer Microfinance Bank together have announced the launch of a mobile banking service, which is being branded as "easypaisa". Telenor Pakistan becomes the first cellular operator to complete USF project

­telenor Pakistan says that it has become the country's first telco to have completed a Universal Service Fund project. To celebrate the achievement, telenor Pakistan and the Universal Service Fund jointly inaugurated a Base Station in district Bahawalpur's Cholistan desert last week. This cell site is one of the total 39 sites of USF Bahawalpur project that have been set up for this communication deprived area.  more
