Austria Gets Europe's First HSPA+ Mobile Data Network

Telekom Austria's mobile subsidiary, mobilkom austria, has become the first operator in Europe to launch HSPA+ services - offering a potential mobile data download speed of 21 Mbps. In a first step, HSPA+ will be rolled-out in Vienna's 10th district, with further hotspots following throughout the country by the second quarter of 2009.  more

Alcatel-Lucent deploys HSUPA solution in Austria

Alcatel-Lucent says that mobilkom austria has deployed it's HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access) solution in all Alcatel-Lucent NodeB's of its Austrian network. This enables mobilkom austria to offer its customers mobile broadband service with an uplink of up to 1.4 Mbps, which is five to ten times faster than previously available. more
