Austria Gets Europe's First HSPA+ Mobile Data Network
Telekom Austria's mobile subsidiary, mobilkom austria, has become the first operator in Europe to launch HSPA+ services - offering a potential mobile data download speed of 21 Mbps. In a first step, HSPA+ will be rolled-out in Vienna's 10th district, with further hotspots following throughout the country by the second quarter of 2009. more

Telekom Austria Slips into the Red on Restructuring Costs
Telekom Austria Group has reported full year revenues up 5.1% to €5.17 billion (US$6.6 billion), although EBITDA decreased by 30.2% to €1.3 billion (US$1.66 billion) due to restructuring costs in its landline division which cost it €632 million (US$806 million). Excluding the restructuring program EBITDA increased by 3.9% to €1.93 billion (US$2.46 billion). more

Telekom Austria Selects Radcom's Service Assurance Solution
Radcom says that Telekom Austria has selected its Omni-Q solution to monitor and troubleshoot their national GRX network service. The GRX (GPRS Roaming Exchange) is used to transmit data roaming and interworking traffic between IP networks of GSM mobile operators, allowing their subscribers to use home network mobile data services abroad. more

Hutchison 3G makes mobile number portability complaint
Hutchison 3G's Austrian division has made a complaint to the Austrian regulatory authority against T-Mobile, One, Telering, Telekom Austria and UTA regarding a solution to implement Mobile Number Portability (MNP). The company says that it had been in negotiations for 9 months before deciding to report the matter to the regulator. more
