Operators Collaborate On Single API for Secure Mobile Applications

A group of mobile operators today unveiled a new initiative to create a blueprint and roadmap for opening up mobile functionality to encourage the development of mobile applications without compromising customer security. The new initiative will be known as BONDI. Supported by the OMTP members including 3 Group, AT&T, T-Mobile, Telenor, telefonica, Telecom Italia and Vodafone, BONDI will provide a consistent and secure web services interface that can be used by all web developers across multiple device platforms.  more

Volantis Releases Mobile Content Platform as Open Source Software

Volantis Systems has released its mobile content delivery platform as an open-source software offering under the GNU General Public License (GPL), version three. In all the company opened 1.2 million lines of code, the result of seven years' of development, to the community. The company also launched the Mobility Server Project to help developers build out the mobile platform.  more

Yahoo to be T-Mobile's Exclusive European Mobile Search Partner

Internet search engine, Yahoo has entered into a new strategic partnership with T-Mobile to bring Yahoo's mobile services to millions of consumers in T-Mobile's European footprint. This agreement sets the stage for Yahoo oneSearch to become the exclusive mobile search service for T-Mobile customers beginning at the end of March, 2008.  more
