Telecoms Charity Sends Aid to Congo
In an effort to support the agencies of the United Nations and non governmental organizations, a team of emergency telecommunications specialists was deployed from Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) headquarters in France to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The team reached the city of Dungu situated near the Sudanese border in the eastern province of this central African country Sunday. more

Emergency Telecoms Sent to Latin America
The telecoms charity, Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) has deployed emergency aid to the (North Atlantic Autonomous Region) following the recent path of Hurricane Felix. Since their arrival on the site, TSF's logisticians set up two telecommunication centres in Puerto Cabezas, a third one will open today in Sahasa to ensure a better coordination of relief (local authorities, UN Agencies, international and local NGOs). more

Bringing Emergency Telecoms to Mozambique
During last months heavy floods in Mozambique, which affected an estimated 285,000 people - the telecoms charity, Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) responded to the emergency by deploying a first communication centre at the office of the National Disaster Management Institute of Mozambique (INGC) in Caia, only 24 hours after the activation of the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) on February 15th. Caia is indeed one of the most affected zones where a majority of NGO are based. The town soon became the coordination hub for humanitarian operations. more

Telecoms Charity Offer Aid in Congo
At the request of UNICEF, the telecoms charity, Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) says that it has installed a telecoms center by satellite in Mitwaba, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Three months previously the region was beset with rioting rebels who contested the government then in power, the population who fled is now slowly returning. Humanitarian operations were previously impossible in the region, but now access had been given to humanitarian organizations and the displaced population is also able to return their homes. more

Telecoms Charity Flies to Lebanon
A crew of volunteers from Telecoms Sans Frontieres will head out to Lebanon this morning to offer emergency communications services to refugees and aid workers. The crew will be landing in Larnaca, Cyprus to reach Beirut as soon as possible. TSF will be carrying 7 satellite lines, 3 satellite data transmitters, 1 visio conference station and IT equipment such as laptops, fax, printers, scanners and photocopiers. more

Emergency Telecoms Provided for Indonesian Earthquake
Following the Indonesian earthquake at the weekend, the communications charity, Telecoms Sans Frontieres has sent a delegation to assist in providing emergency telecoms services to aid workers and displaced people who want to call worried relatives. Teams from TSF South East Asia, reinforced by TSF Europe, have been sent to the area most affected, Yogyakarta in the south of Java, arriving on Sunday. More than 200,000 people have been affected by the catastrophe and at least 5,100 have been killed according to initial estimates. more

Pakistan Earthquake: TSF runs Satellite Telecoms Centre for rescue efforts
Staff from the aid charity, Telecoms Sans Frontieres (Telecoms Without Borders) arrived in Pakistan on October 9th, the day after the earthquake and installed a satellite Telecoms Centre for rescue teams near Muzaffarabad heliport where hundreds of injured people are waiting to be evacuated. more
