Remote patient monitoring trial using mobile technology

Telecom New Zealand Profits Up on Tax Changes
Telecom New Zealand has reported a 9% rise in its 3rd quarter profits to NZ$163 million. This was due in part to a NZ$43 million one-off effect from changes in tax law. Revenue for the quarter fell 6.5% to NZ$1.36 billion, while operating expenses fell faster, to US$909 million, a 7.7% decrease on the equivalent quarter. more

Telecom New Zealand Fill Year Profits Down by One Third
Telecom New Zealand has announced a one-third drop in its full year net profits to NZ$483 million (US$326 million) - which the company put down to a combination of a 20% increase in depreciation and amortisation costs, and a 32% increase in net finance expenses. These increases were partially offset by a 37% decrease in adjusted income tax expense. more

Telecom New Zealand has launches what it says is the country's largest mobile music store, offering over 3.2 million music tracks. Cook Islands May Break Up Mobile Network Monopoly
The mobile network monopoly on the South Pacific's Cook Islands could be broken after a proposal is made to the government by Kukicel to allow it to enter the market. TelstraClear Considering Flipping MVNO Back to Vodafone
New Zealand MVNO, TelstraClear is reported to be considering another network flip and switching back to Vodafone from Telecom New Zealand. The move is thought to be due to Telecom's decision to block resellers from accessing its WCDMA network until 2011 - leaving them selling access only on the legacy CDMA network. more

Telecom New Zealand Outlines 3G Network Launch Details
Telecom New Zealand has revealed more of the services coming on its WCDMA based XT Mobile network including changes to mobile plan charging, and a range of handset and content announcements.
