Telecom Italia and 3 Italia have signed a "co-siting" agreement for the sharing of radio mobile access sites which regards both existing sites and those which will be built in the future. In a terse statement, 3 Italia has firmly denied the story published by Sole 24 Ore regarding the sale of company assets to Italian competitors. The newspaper had reported that Hutchison Whampoa's Italian subsidiary had held talks which could have lead to the break up, and effective shut-down of the network as a going concern. more

3 Italy Extends National Roaming Deal with Telecom Italia
Telecom Italia says that it has renewed its national roaming contract with Hutchison Whampoa's 3 Italia to provide 2G coverage for the operator. The contract is worth EUR280 million (US$440 million) over four years. Telecom Italia and 3 Italia have also struck a new SMS interconnection deal. more
