Starhome predicts data roaming usage increase - average of 35-45 percent

Roaming services provider, Starhome has predicted that solutions that stimulate roaming traffic and add new data subscribers will be in high demand in 2009. Telecom Italia Confirms 28Mps Mobile Download Speeds Within Months

Telecom Italia has confirmed that it will be offering mobile broadband connections speeds of up to 28 Mps in the first half of this year. HSPA+ technology, using Qualcomm chipsets, will roll out in the first half of next year in an initial Data Card offering for PCs enabling mobile internet connections at data rates of up to 21 Mps (5.7 Mps upload).  more

Fitch Downgrades Telecom Italia Debt Ratings

Fitch Ratings has downgraded Telecom Italia's (TI) Long-term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) and senior unsecured ratings to 'BBB' from 'BBB+', which is generally considered to be lower medium grade, following TI's announcement last week relating to its industrial targets for 2009-2011. 3 Italia Denies Report of 3G Network Break-Up
