Active RAN Sharing Could Save Operators $60 Billion
A new study from ABI Research finds that the worldwide combined OPEX and CAPEX savings from active infrastructure sharing could amount to as much as $60 billion over the next five year period. The study finds that operators could enjoy at least 40% cost savings in addition to those available from passive site sharing. more

Tele2 Switches Dutch MVNO to T-Mobile
tele2 has announced the signing of a MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) agreement with T-Mobile for both GSM and 3G mobile services in the Netherlands. Currently tele2 is the largest MVNO in the Netherlands with more than 450,000 mobile customers. more

DiGi appoints new Chief Technology Officer
Ole Martin Gunhildsbu has been appointed by Malaysian mobile network, DiGi Telecommunications as its new Chief Technology Officer ("CTO") with immediate effect. He has been acting CTO since November 2008 when his predecessor left to take up a new role within the Telenor Group. more
