Number Portability to Launch in Malaysia Next Month

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is due to be launched in Malaysia' Kuala Lumpur from next month, announced the Energy, Water and Communications Minister, Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor. It is intended that the facility will then go nationwide from October. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) originally announced plans for MNP last March.  more

Telcordia Wins Malaysian Mobile Number Portability Management Contract

With mobile number portability in Malaysia just months away, telcordia says that it has won a contract to provide a MNP clearing house for the operators. In March, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced that a consortium comprising Talian Gerak Alih, Unified Communications and telcordia was selected to build, operate and manage the Mobile Number Portability Clearinghouse in Malaysia.  more

Warid Telecom Orders Number Portability Platform

Pakistan's Warid Telecom has become the second of three major mobile operators in the country to select a telcordia number portability solution. The country's regulator Pakistan Telecommunications Authority and the Pakistan MNP Database (Guarantee) Limited (PMD), chose the telcordia Number Portability Clearinghouse as the centralized repository for number porting.  processes. more
