Tektronix Extends Mobile Network Monitoring Capability for Femtocells
tektronix Communications has announced a femtocell monitoring solution based upon the GeoProbe network monitoring platform. As part of the Unified Assurance portfolio, the GeoProbe platform of monitoring solutions will support both standards 3GPP release 8 and vendor proprietary versions of the femtocell interfaces. more

Bangladesh Operator Orders Network Monitoring Platform
Bangladesh's Grameenphone has ordered a Network Assurance monitoring solution from tektronix Communications. GeoProbe provides Grameenphone proactive GSM, GPRS and SIGTRAN monitoring, enabling the operator to detect bottlenecks, abnormal situations and performance degradation in real time. In addition, tektronix is providing its K18 Network and Service Analyzer (NSA) and Optimization Expert Module, giving Grameenphone enhanced protocol analysis and reporting capabilities. more

Chinese Ministry Orders 3G Test Platform
tektronix says that China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR), a division of The Ministry of Information Industry (MII), has chosen it as a supplier for the 3G network environment testing. CATR has specified that tektronix' K1297-G20 protocol tester and K15 protocol analyzer will become the standard testing tools for the upcoming 3G network environment testing project. more

Vodafone Improves GPRS Monitoring
Vodafone Germany has switched on GeoProbe and Advanced Performance Monitoring (APM) from the tektronix Unified Assurance (UA) suite for its network-wide, real-time GPRS and UMTS monitoring system. Furthermore, the tektronix solution, which is now fully operational across the German Vodafone network, has been completely integrated into the carrier's OSS and Service Management infrastructure. more

HSDPA Added to Handheld Wireless RF Field Tester
tektronix has announced the addition of the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) software option to its NetTek Wireless RF Field Tester. tektronix says that it is the first manufacturer to provide HSDPA test and measurement capabilities in a handheld form factor, enabling network providers to more easily diagnose HSDPA NodeB transmitter problems and effectively manage their 3G mobile communications networks. more

The NetTek Base Analyzer is now capable of testing radio-wave propagation characteristics of a W-CDMA base station for installation and maintenance applications.
