China Mobile Expecting 80 Million 3G Subscribers by 2011

ZTE Tops China Mobile 3G Contract
ZTE is reported to have picked up just over a third of the latest td-scdma tender from China Mobile, reports the Interfax news agency. Huawei won 22% of the contract, while Datang Telecom was awarded 16%. Other equipment manufacturers share the remainder, every company to have 5-6%. more

China Wants TD-SCDMA to Take 20% of 3G Market by 2020
The Chinese government is seeking to push its home grown 3G standard overseas and has set a target to take 20 percent of the overseas 3G subscriber market by 2020. China Mobile Planning $4.6 Billion 3G Spend in Shanghai
China Mobile plans to spend around RMB 31 billion (US$4.6 billion) on its 3G network in Shanghai by 2011, mainly as the city prepares for the World Expo 2010.
